October 24th 2022. Spectrum Center. Charlotte, North Carolina. Monday Night RAW. The RAW Women's Championship wasn't on the line but Bayley defeating champion Bianca Belair was the type of statement victory that could earn her another title opportunity. Bayley had last pinned Bianca in a singles match on the December 18th 2020 episode of SmackDown. More recently she pinned her during the six woman tag team match at Clash at the Castle. Her ladder match loss to Bianca at Extreme Rules was just motivation for Bayley to pin Belair again.
Damage CTRL had a successful Friday on SmackDown with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY enduring a hard-fought battle with Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi to retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. Before she stepped into the ring to face The EST, Bayley would confront Candice LeRae during a backstage interview. Candice had expressed gratitude to her new friends Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair. Bayley arrived alongside Kai and SKY, jeering Bianca (whom she added sucks) and decided to try her hand at journalism replacing interviewer Cathy Kelley.
Candice choosing to spite Bayley and side with Bianca clearly hurt Bayley as we learnt last week when Bayley provided some insight on commentary. Bayley pointed out that she had admired Candice's work before becoming a wrestler herself and only ever had positive things to say about her -- including I might add a welcoming tweet upon her return to WWE and main roster debut. Upon sitting down, Bayley told Candice -- whom already brought the hostility with a scowl covering her face -- that she was just there to ask a couple questions.
Bayley factually noted that Asuka and Alexa weren't there to hear Candice's sob story since Damage CTRL put them on the shelf just like they did Becky Lynch. She also truthfully stated Dakota and IYO retained their titles on SmackDown. Just as she was about to end her proper interview forward to ask the questions, Candice accosted IYO of still being untrustworthy, Dakota of still being spiteful and Bayley of still not winning the RAW Women's Championship.
Does Candice have a point? Nope. Despite not liking many people, IYO has proven to be trustworthy when it comes to partnerships except for Candice. Dakota got over her spite sometime ago and not only overcame her demons earlier this year but got her job back. Candice is the only spiteful one still harboring a grudge against IYO from 2019. Candice shouldn't talk about people not winning titles because I recall she never managed to win the NXT Women's Title on multiple tries. Bayley's already proven her worth as a multi-time champ.
Bayley got in Candice's face, correcting her that she's not RAW Women's Champion YET. The Role Model continued, reminding The Poison Pixie that if she thinks Damage CTRL aren't in control, to look around and take notice that she doesn't have any friends in sight to help her. Bayley pushed the camera to the floor and the sounds of brawling were heard as RAW went to commercial. Later on that night, Bianca threatened to take out Kai and SKY to get to Bayley despite neither even implying they intended to stop Bianca from competing.
Earlier in the day, Bayley showed Bianca respect on social media though also made it clear The EST's accomplishments were drive for her to once again become champion. Bayley and Bianca would go to war in the ring for over twenty minutes putting on a banger. Dakota and IYO watched from ringside as Bayley fought The EST blow for blow, both leaving it all in the ring. The action would eventually turn into a ringside brawl. Bianca decided to take shots at Dakota and IYO who hadn't made any attempt to actually interfere.
The referee checked on Bayley whom Bianca had powerbombed on top of the commentary table and ring post along with dropped face first across the ring apron. Bianca's uncalled for attack on Dakota and IYO would come back to haunt her. BASH! SKY smashed Bianca into the commentary table and kept her in place so Dakota could introduce her to BOOM! her badass pump kick.
Kai and SKY were caught by the referee tossing Bianca back into the ring to avoid ending an awesome match on a count out. So what does the foolish referee do? He demands Dakota and IYO leave ringside. Suddenly, someone flew off the top rope taking out the referee, Kai and SKY. Back in the ring, Bianca reversed the Rose Plant into the KOD. The someone who came off the top rope attacked Bianca. It was Nikki Cross! An ally of Damage CTRL? Could she be the fourth woman? Taking out Kai and SKY may have been inadvertent.
Nikki ran off flashing an unhinged smile shades of her Sanity days. Bayley covered Bianca to score the pinfall victory after referee Jessika Carr rushed down to register the count. Nikki came back and attacked... Bayley! She stopped to stare a venomous look. But she wasn't done, pummeling Bayley more. Logical guess: Nikki's not the fourth woman nor an ally. Put aside the Nikki stuff, Damage CTRL still owned the night. They took out the threat of Candice, Dakota and IYO are the tag champs and Bayley pinned the RAW Women's Champion in a singles match.
