Part 5 | Ironwoman of WarGames | Chapter 4 Finale

November 26th 2022. TD Garden. Boston, Massachusetts. Survivor Series: WarGames. The Ladies went to war. They brought a Maniac and Eradicator with them. I've nicknamed them Damage Kombat Club. They are WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai & IYO SKY, Bayley, Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross. Their opponents were RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair, Asuka, "Michin" Mia Yim, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss.

IYO and Dakota were competing in their fourth WarGames. Bianca in her second. Rhea in her third. Survivor Series 2022 marked the first time WarGames took place on the WWE main roster following it being a yearly part of NXT since 2017. Now all ten top notch talented women -- a melting pot of NXT alum from different times of the Original Black & Gold Era -- would take part in the debut of WarGames at a Big Four Original WWE Premium Live Event.

Dakota's face and body language were giddy with excitement for the carnage that awaited. Our Captain would begin the match for her team for the third time in a row. She's not only The Captain of Team Kick... Dakota Kai is also The Captain of Endurance. Kai has been the MVP of the last two NXT Women's WarGames Matches. Unlike last year, this time she was on a team she jelled with that considered her a friend or in the case of Rhea I suspect an ally she's come to respect. Nikki apparently doesn't consider any of the other women her friend and is just there for the chaos. But I have confidence that nonetheless Nikki will come through for her team.

Bianca decided to enter first for her team. She took Bayley's words from this past Monday Night RAW about leadership to heart, proving even an enemy of Bayley can partake wisdom from The Role Model. The battle would begin, going from back and forth to Kai's favor after she smashed Bianca with the running face wash in the corner followed by a basement pump kick. Belair tried to seek refuge in the opposite ring only to receive another pump kick while moving from ring to ring that nastily landed her at her intended destination.

Dakota took a pummeling for a bit until striking Bianca with the scorpion kick. But The EST would mount a comeback, catching the charging Kai with a reverse electric chair drop. She would follow that up, tossing Kai into the cage with a gruesome powerbomb. Thankfully for Dakota, it was time for the second member of the advantaged Damage Kombat Club to enter the match. That would be IYO SKY giving her team a two on one advantage for what would now be three minute intervals. IYO would take charge, giving Kai a moment of respite.

IYO brought Bianca to the opposite ring by force with a crossbody through the ropes. Dakota aided her tag team championship partner with a double team. Kai would hit a pump kick followed by charging double knees from SKY. Another double followed in the form of a sliding kick from Kai followed by springboard knees from IYO. Kai and IYO went for a double suplex but Belair reversed it into one of her own. SKY and Kai quickly took back over with Kai escaping Bianca's grasp so IYO could deliver a springboard dropkick.

It was now time for the second member of Team EST to enter. That would be The Empress of Tomorrow Asuka. The Empress entered the double caged ring, German suplexing Kai before going at it with IYO. Asuka and IYO engaged in a hard-hitting battle while Kai fought Bianca in the opposite ring. Kai would turn her attention to The Empress, cutting her off as she climbed to the top rope. Bianca would proceed to cut Kai down, lifting her up over her head with a press slam into the unforgiving cage. Asuka grounded IYO immediately after with a missile dropkick.

Asuka and Bianca worked their opponents over until the three minutes were up and Nikki Cross joined the chaos for her team. She would not come alone, tossing kendo sticks and garbage can lids into the ring. She would also smash the cage door in Asuka's face when she tried to stop her. Garbage cans lids but no cans.... that's so Nikki! Upon entering the ring, Nikki delivered a tornado DDT to Belair and fireman's carry driver to Asuka. Cross would even use her ring jacket to smack both opponents.

Nikki applied a submission hold to Bianca. The match couldn't officially begin therefore end until all ten competitors entered but it still shot pain through The EST. And more so after Kai handed Nikki a kendo stick to assist her in choking Bianca. Dakota even snuck in one of her lethal kicks. Soon after, it was time for another member of Team EST to enter. It would be Alexa who charged right in, dropkicking a trash can lid into Dakota. Moments later she followed that up, rolling Kai into a lid with a huracarrana via an assist from Bianca.

Cross tried to use a keno stick on Belair who instead broke it. Cross madly climbed the cage luring Belair to follow in pursuit. That gave SKY and Kai a chance to bring Belair down with numerous kendo stick shots. Bliss and Asuka stopped that assault, unleashing kendo stick shots of their own on Kai and SKY. Nikki watched the violence for a bit sitting on top of the cage having an insane laugh before crashing down on all the competitors with a crossbody.

It was time for another member of Damage Kombat Club who would be Bayley. The Role Model brought two ladders from under the ring to the open cage door where Dakota assisted her in sliding them onto the battleground. Bayley wasn't done grabbing plunder, bringing in a table much to the crowd's delight. I swear, they better not even dare boo Bayley or any of her team after she gave them what they craved. The Role Model would go right after Bianca, sunset bombing her into the turnbuckles with Belair crashing down onto a trash can lid.

Dakota, Bayley and IYO would triple team Bianca, driving the table straight into her gut. Nikki took over against Bianca, using her braid to smash her into the table. Kai and Bayley assisted IYO in landing a springboard moonsault from the middle rope onto Bliss. The triple team party was not over as Kai was lifted up by SKY and Bayley for an assisted double stomp on Asuka. In seconds, Mia would enter for her team with three garbage cans in tow. Her partners were on the canvas so she took charge, smacking a top rope leaping Kai in the gut with a garbage can.

IYO came at Mia with a lid only to get caught and driven throat first into it with a sitdown neckbreaker. Mia would turn her attention to her former friend Dakota, tossing her into the cage before delivering Kawada kicks to Kai as she was draped over the middle rope. Michin wasn't done, mashing the rope draped Kai's face into a lid with a basement huracarrana. Yim didn't let up, rebounding from Nikki's sleeper attempt with a tope from the first ring to the second that drove Bayley back-of-skull first to the canvas. Team EST continued their assault with a barrage of superplexes. The most brutal saw Mia bring Dakota down from the top rope with a delayed vertical onto a lid.

Seconds later, Rhea Ripley would be the final woman to enter the match for her team. She went right into Eradicator Mode, tearing up the opposing team for a bit. Mami was having fun. Alexa tried to be the hero diving off the top rope for a save. Rhea caught her and delivered a vertical suplex with blissful ease. Ripley didn't end it there, tossing Alexa hard into the cage. IYO would run the ropes for a bit as Ripley locked Asuka in the Prism Trap. Bayley forced Bianca to watch on as IYO eventually had enough of the cardio, hitting a basement dropkick.

Team EST was down. Damage Kombat Club hoped to have a moment of respite before Becky Lynch entered the match last for her team. Mia would get to her feet stopping that with a sweeping kick to Ripley. A shot to the Eradicator would stumble her into the corner where she was smashed into a trash can via a cannonball from Michin. Mia looked to hit another tope into the opposite ring, however Bayley caught her in gutwrench position so IYO could smash a lid over her a few times. Dakota would continue to provide damage to Mia, coming off the top rope with her double stomp I'm now calling The King's Coup because she's King F'N Kota.

Seconds later WarGames would officially begin as Becky entered the fray. The Match Beyond! Lynch invited Damage CTRL to come at her. They did and she fought them off with strikes and kicks. Nikki looked to assist IYO with a trash can shot on Becky but inadvertently struck her partner. Lynch placed the can over IYO's head and rammed Nikki head first into it. With the can still over IYO's head, Lynch climbed to the second rope and smashed canned IYO to the canvas with a legdrop. Becky would turn her attention to Bayley, disrespectfully calling her the B word.

Lynch battered Bayley to the apron. The Role Model may have been down but Ripley came forth, smashing Becky with a headbutt from hell. Ripley would follow with the Riptide but Asuka made the save with a crescent kick when Rhea went for the pinfall. Meanwhile, Dakota would get some payback on Mia in the opposite ring, tossing her into the cage. Asuka spit green mist at Rhea, giving Becky the opportunity to plant her with a DDT. Bayley would resume her fight with Becky, planting Lynch onto the steel grate between the rings with the Rose Plant.

Asuka would save the match again for her team, dropkicking Bayley off Becky during a cover. All the competitors except Becky, Rhea and Nikki would find their way over to the turnbuckle for The Tower of Doom of All Tower of Dooms. Nikki put an end to Bianca delivering the huge powerbomb with a kendo stick to the gut. Belair would not go down for long, grabbing Bayley and planting her with a powerbomb off the cage. IYO was in THAT mood. The Genius of the Sky made her way to the top of the cage and landed one of her insane WarGames dives to Belair and Lynch in the form of a moonsault.

Nikki tried to handcuff Alexa to the ropes. Bliss would counter, handcuffing herself to Nikki and electric chair dropping Cross to the canvas but doing just as much damage to herself falling on a trash can. In the other ring, Rhea intended to Riptide Mia who countered it, however The Eradicator got the last laugh lunging herself and Yim through a ladder in the corner. Back in the opposite ring, Damage CTRL had a staredown with Bianca and Becky shades of how this all began at SummerSlam on July 30th 2022. It was on. The Ladies slugged it out with The EST and The Man.

Dakota flipped out of a Belair KOD only to receive a Lynch Manhandle Slam. IYO escaped the Manhandle Slam and got a KOD from Bianca. Dakota and IYO were spent, placed on top a table. Becky made her way to the top of the cage. Bayley attempted a heroic save to stop Lynch but Belair would cut her off, driving her into the cage with a KOD. In the meantime, Becky had reached the top of the cage. The Man came crashing down with a legdrop, driving Kai and SKY through the table. Lynch would proceed to cover Kai to score the pinfall victory for Team EST.

I'm unashamedly biased as the Chronicler of Dakota Kai's Tale but I give credit to her rivals when it's due. It was no surprise that all ten women went to war and kicked ass. Not happy with the outcome but Team EST fought just as hard as Damage Kombat Club. Is the war between Damage CTRL and Team EST truly over? If so, what comes next for Damage CTRL? Only time will tell. Tonight was a loss but The Ladies always come back stronger. I doubt that will be any different this time.

I will end this entry speaking from the soul. I'm so proud to be a Dakota Kai fan. Seeing my favorite and heroine, Our Captain fighting her heart out and selflessly bumping and selling all over the place for 40 minutes. Competing in one of the two main events at a Big Four Original WWE Premium Live Event. All of that is something no one thought would ever happen earlier this year. On November 26th 2022, it did happen and that alone was a victory for Our Captain. Both the character and the woman. THE Ironwoman of WarGames.
