The Beginning of Evie and The Investment

This is actually a mix of 2013 and 2014 that will be sorted out as more entires about this storyline are eventually made.

We all know Dakota Kai had a heel run. I suspect some are not aware Evie was a heel for a time in her hometown promotion Impact Pro Wrestling. There doesn't seem to be a lot out there about Evie's heel run, however I was able to research enough to begin to look at it. Hopefully in future updates there will be some more stuff from her IPW tenure including heel Evie. Cap working heel as Evie in both IPW and briefly in MCW surprised me as I thought Evie was always a face.

Evie's turn followed a lot of grief regarding the fate of the vacant IPW Women's Championship in 2013. At the end of 2013 a new champion was to be decided in a match pitting Evie against Olivia Shaw and Evie's arch-rival Britenay. Evie won after successfully taking Britenay out with TTYL. Later on that evening, IPW owner Daniel Burnell and Evie screwed over the opponent of IPW Champion Vinny Dunn to officially form a faction known as The Investment. This was a heel faction comprised of all the champions in the company and the owner.

Her first title defense in January 2014 was against the debuting Carmen Rose. Evie's gear and look took a darker turn as did her attitude. She now resided in the Better Part of East Auckland and verbally lashed out at fans -- something even heel Dakota Kai rarely ever did. Heel Dakota could be sadistic and cruel to her opponents. But considering her turn was the result of rejection -- and post WarGames 2020 there was a case for empathy -- I never felt heel Dakota was an evil character. There were some layers to heel Dakota if one opted to see them. Heel Evie felt more classic evil, sacrificing her fans and her honor for power and money.

To affirm her new, nasty attitude during the Carmen Rose match Evie even invited a fan into the ring for a fight after they told her she sucked. I've included some screen captures from the Carmen Rose match at IPW New Year's Takeover 2014 along with some from an interview filled with expletives she did during an edition of IPW Informer later that year. If I'm ever able to interview Cap for this site I definitely got some Investment Evie questions planned.
