Our Captain would sign with WWE a couple years later and become the glue of the NXT Women's Division. In October 2015, she would make an NXT appearance as Evie finding herself nearly glued to the mat after facing an opponent whose not like most girls. The imposing Nia Jax made her NXT debut and fortunately for Evie, she had not yet discovered a love for planting opponents through tables. Unfortunately for Evie, Nia was still a force of destruction. Evie entered the NXT arena at Full Sail University to a warm reception. She was all smiles pointing out the fans chanting Team F'N Kick. Evie looked to get the advantage after the bell rang, intent on trying to charge at Nia and strike her with some of her signature kicks. Nia stopped her in one fell swoop, simply shoving her back as she charged. Evie fought back with a clothesline, which Nia brushed off insulted by the effort.

The next charge of Evie resulted in Nia scooping her into a bearhug. Nia walked around the ring, squeezing and shaking Evie. A few elbow strikes let Evie break free. But a sunset flip attempt failed. Nia laughed enjoying this domination. Evie would not stay down, striking Nia with a few of her signature kicks. But Nia caught Evie as she charged at her one final time, strutting around with her like fallen prey for a few seconds before planting her spine first to the mat. Nia would proceed to stack Evie for the pinfall victory. Evie may have lost this one. But for The Captain of Team Kick this would only be the first of many battles to come inside the Black and Gold confines. In 2017 she would return and The Story of Dakota Kai would begin.
