Evie had defeated Portia Perez to advance to the second round of The ChickFight Tournament at Shimmer Volume 71. The winner of this match would join Kay Lee Ray and Cheerleader Melissa in a three-way elimination match to determine the winner who would get a future shot at the Shimmer Championship. Both Nicole and Evie were known for having educated feet, engaging in a kick-of-a feeling-out process instead of lockups.

The feeling out process ended when Evie attempted to roundhouse Nicole's head off. Nicole rebounded with a savate kick followed by a running shoulder tackle. Evie leap frogged over Nicole to avoid a charge, however her ankle was caught in midair and she was slammed to the canvas right into an variant of the ankle lock. The Kiwi desperately fought her way to the rope, grabbing it to force the break before more damage could be done. Evie who was slumped in the corner surprised a charging Nicole with a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle.

Evie kept up the offense, flipping Nicole out of the corner followed by a running neck snap and jackknife cover for a two. A snap-of-a-kick to the back kept Nicole on the canvas for another two count. Evie charged Nicole as she got up, receiving a boot to the face. Nicole dropped Evie neck first with a bridging backdrop suplex. Evie barely kicked out. Her neck was wringing in pain, having already been worked over extensively in her first match. Nicole didn't let up on the soft spot, landing a roundhouse kick and forearm shot to Evie's neck.

Nicole kept up her assault on Evie's neck with a boot choke in the corner followed by a running dropkick. Evie caught a kick attempt only for Nicole to legscissors her to the canvas and into a cross armbar that she transitioned into a crossface when Evie attempted to counter into a pin attempt. Evie escaped with a roll, shooting back with a kick to the shoulder. The Kiwi went for a running kick, however Nicole caught her leg and applied an ankle lock variant. Evie was too far from the ropes but was able to force free with blows to Nicole's leg.

Evie back elbowed Nicole in the corner as she charged at her. Nicole charged again and Evie used a rope assisted dropkick to thwart her. Evie hit a missile dropkick from the top rope followed moments later by a uranage backbreaker. She went for a cover but Nicole got her shoulder up. Nicole used the ropes to get to her feet only to slump back into the corner after being nailed with Evie's charging Yakuza kick. Evie went for a second but Nicole caught her, tossing her over her head with an exploder suplex. Nicole went for a pin but Evie kicked out.

Nicole wasted no time, dropping Evie on her neck with a high arching German suplex. As the referee was about to strike the mat a third time, Evie just barely kicked out. Nicole sat Evie on the top rope and climbed up for a superplex. There they traded forearm shots and headbutts until Nicole lost her balance, falling backwards with her legs trapped over the top rope. Evie delivered Coup-de-Evie to her hung opponent, spiking Nicole to the canvas during the crash. The referee counted to three and Evie scored a pinfall victory to advance to the finals.

Evie still had one more match on that day. Her neck was a mess but she had to fight through the pain to earn that shot at the Shimmer Championship. Nicole approached her, extending her hand. But when Evie reached to shake it, Nicole walked away. Evie shook it off because she had to focus on the finals. Our Captain motioned to the crowd that she wanted a belt around her waist.
