The odds were stacked against them. But that wasn't anything new for Team Slap Happy. Evie and Heidi Lovelace (Ruby Soho) entered a four corners elimination match for the Shimmer Tag Team Championship. Their opponents were defending champions The Kimber Bombs (Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb), BaleSpin (KC Spinelli & Xandra Bale) and Fly High WDSS (Kay Lee Ray & Mia Yim). The match was contested under Lucha Rules. In such a match once someone leaves the ring it's legal for another competitor to enter.

To protect themselves from Cherry Bomb's (Allie The Bunny) vocal storm, Evie and Heidi put in earplugs prior to the match. All three teams of challengers circled Kimber and Cherry. The bell rang and they took shots at the villainous champions. Team Slap Happy and BaleSpin held Cherry so KLR and Mia could tape her mouth shut to lessen her vocal storm. Or at least try. Cherry ripped the tape off and let out that shriek. The ring trembled from the vocal storm, sending the challengers in a frenzy. Even the ones with earplugs.

Things got serious when Kimber was brought into the ring. Evie and Heidi struck her down with dueling standing and running kicks. KLR and Mia followed up with double dropkicks and legdrops on Cherry. Kimber and Cherry retreated to the floor where KC and Xandra held The Kimber Bombs so KLR and Mia could hit topes on them. Heidi and Evie followed with crossbodies from the top to BaleSpin, KLR and Mia. Evie was first to get back up to which commentator Dave Prazak spoke truth: "She's just that good."

The action returned to the ring with Evie striking Mia with a snap-of-a-kick. Yim didn't stay down for long, planting Evie with a back suplex and kick to the back. They exchanged and blocked a succession of kicks and knees. Evie hit the ropes where Mia cut her off with a big boot. Evie did the same in turn to Mia. She quickly followed up with a back elbow and hard kick to Mia's arm. KC entered grounding Evie with a butterfly suplex. Evie fought back with a running kick to KC's chest. But KC caught Evie with a fallaway slam on her crossbody attempt.

Evie rolled out to regroup bringing in KLR who exchanged blows with KC. Heidi entered when KC rolled out. They exchanged kicks until Heidi sent KLR to the floor with the Heidi-Can-Rana. Xandra entered the fray and grounded Heidi with a crossbody from the top rope. The Kimber Bombs took over for a bit hitting a succession of double teams on Xandra until BaleSpin took back control. They lived up to their name with KC taking Xandra for a spin so she could canvas the charging opponents. Mia put their momentum to an end with a big boot.

BaleSpin would be the first team eliminated after Mia and KLR used their pedigree and KLR Bomb combo to score a pinfall on Xandra. Cherry snuck in and quickly rolled up KLR with a pull of the tights to eliminate Mia and her. Only one team of challengers remained and it was Team Slap Happy. The teams fought back and forth. Evie struck Cherry with a scorpion kick and Heidi nailed Kimber with an enziguri. Cherry planted Evie with a death valley driver followed by Kimber spiking Heidi with a reverse tombstone. Evie took Kimber down with TTYL.

The Kimber Bombs took control when Cherry hit Evie with a codebreaker right into a German suplex from Kimber. Heidi pulled off a heroic last minute save to break up the pinfall attempt. The Kimber Bombs decided to resort to old familiar meaning the title belts. Kimber intended to belt Evie, but instead she hit Cherry when Evie ducked out of the way. Evie followed up hitting the charging Yakuza kick on Kimber with Heidi hitting an enziguri at the same moment.

It was time for the Rocket Launcher to seal the deal. Evie climbed to the top and Heidi to the second rope. Heidi launched Evie who delivered Coup-de-Evie to the fallen Kimber. Heidi followed with a frog splash and cover. The referee stuck the canvas three times. Team Slap Happy were now Shimmer Tag Team Champions. Evie and Heidi embraced and shed some tears in an emotional moment. They celebrated in the ring for a bit before departing with Evie carrying her partner over her shoulder since Heidi's leg was clearly not 100 percent.

Heidi stopped to hug a fan wearing a Team Slap Happy shirt. Evie warmly smiled watching on. The crowd gave them a round of applause as they held up their newly won championship belts one last time before heading backstage. Team Slap Happy's victory was a feel good moment. But Heidi's leg was not at 100 percent and the duo would have to defend the titles later that same day. Would this be a short reign for Evie mirroring her future?
