Ripping Through Ripley

Australian powerhouse Rhea Ripley would have the first of many WWE battles against Dakota Kai in the second round of the 2017 Mae Young Classic. This was not their first battle. Previously, they had two matches against each other in November 2014 for Australian promotion New Horizon Pro Wrestling.

Rhea would punish Kai for much of their Mae Young Classoc second round match. This punishment included dropping Kai off her shoulders face first to the apron like a lot of Aussie ladies seem to enjoy doing to Our Captain. Kai would improvise to score the victory -- hitting Coup-de-Kai to Rhea who was hung from the top rope instead of on the canvas. After the match, the two competitors would embrace out of respect.
