April 2, 2022. WWE WrestleMania 38 Saturday. NXT Stand & Deliver 2022 Kickoff at American Airlines Center. Dallas, Texas. The NXT Women's Tag Team Championship reign of Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne was desolated by the reunited Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Mandy Rose did barely hold onto the NXT Women's Championship, however her baddies losing their gold lessens Toxic Attraction's grasp on the NXT women's division.

Dakota was at peace, free of her demons and completely focused. She smiled slapping some hands on the way to the ring after Raquel and her gazed out at the largest crowd at an NXT event since TakeOver: Portland in February 2020. It was at that same event they joined forces, going on to become a dominant unit. It was fitting they would formally reunite at the first event to again have a full-size crowd. In the past Raquel would usually come out second for their team if they didn't come out together at the same time. But now Raquel had Dakota come out after her, symbolically ensuring Kai that she was her equal to quell any festering thought that Dakota was ever her sidekick. Fans never actually thought Dakota was the sidekick. Dakota herself was past that fear, however Raquel reassuring her friend was a necessary glue. They were equals and united.

Gigi and Jacy attacked their opponents from behind to start things off. Dakota and Raquel took back control with some of their vintage double teams. In a most impressive moment, Dakota delivered a breathtaking spider German suplex to Jacy. As Dakota fought her heart out both on offense and defense, Gigi and Jacy executed their tag team finisher Toxic Shock on her. But Dakota kicked out, making her the first person to do so.

The challengers found themselves with a welcome assist on the outside when they needed it the most. Wendy Choo got a measure of revenge on Toxic Attraction for attacking her last Tuesday by smacking Gigi across the face with her pillow. It got worse for Gigi when Wendy splashed orange soda in her face. Raquel took Gigi out with a big boot, leaving Jacy alone in the ring. Dakota struck Jacy with the Kaio-Kick then Raquel planted her with the Chingona Bomb. The referee counted to three. Dakota and Raquel are two time NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

Raquel and Dakota held their newly won titles up proudly. Choo smiled watching on from the entrance ramp. Dakota acknowledged her new friend Wendy from afar, grateful that their friendship helped her fight her demons and reach a happier place. Dakota didn't hold back her tears as she celebrated the title victory in front of her fans. But the true victory for our Captain has been rediscovering the power of friendship and perhaps finally healing her broken soul. Thanks to help from a new friend in Wendy and old one in Raquel.

This was the first NXT event held outside Orlando since March 7, 2020 due to the pandemic. It also marked the first 2.0 era event held in front of a full-size crowd. This was Dakota's final NXT Premium Event as part of the NXT roster.
