The friendship and sisterhood between Nixon Newell and Candice LeRae was born on the European independent scene. The two hit it off after Nixon won over Candice by taking her to one of Wales many historic castles. Even though they were good friends, their competitive nature would see them square off in the ring. They had a match against each other at Southside Wrestling Entertainment's X-Pendables 2015. Both were beloved by the crowd and intended to have a clean, competitive match. That is exactly how it started. Keyword: Started.

Nixon was first to tease tensing things up, kicking Candice in the gut during a test of strength. But that was merely a shot to the gut between friends. Candice fired back with a twirling headscissors. Nixon tried to fire back with a dropkick but Candice hung onto the ropes to evade. Candice took control, bringing Nixon to the canvas with a headlock. Nixon fought out of it, sending Candice to the floor. Candice cut off Nixon's tope attempt with a forearm to the face. Candice and Nixon ended the nicer play, slamming each other's heads into the ring apron.

LeRae kneed Nixon in the gut and rolled her back into the ring, taking a moment to recoup on the floor. Nixon put a stop to that, immediately diving through the ropes hitting the tope on her friend this time. Newell stayed in control back in the ring with a leg sweep and the Shiniest Wizard. She covered Candice who kicked out strong at two. Nixon kept Candice on the mat with a basement dropkick. But when Nixon attempted the Welsh Destroyer, LeRae shouldered her into the corner where she unleashed a fury of strikes.

Candice kept control for a bit, perfectly executing a rolling neck snap followed by a DDT. Nixon came back with a superkick and German suplex. Newell ascended to the top, landing an angelic looking moonsault. But Candice rolled out of the way and took over, brutally launching Nixon into the turnbuckles with a crotch clutch suplex. Nixon cut Candice off at the top rope, however LeRae took back control crashing Newell to the mat with a spinning neckbreaker from the middle rope. That was enough to score Candice the pinfall victory.

Nixon and Candice shook hands and hugged after the match. Martin Kirby came the ring and attacked both women from behind. He said a few unkind words to Nixon before taking a leave. Candice crawled over to Nixon to check on her and stand guard in case Kirby returned. It would not be long until LeRae and Newell faced each other again. The following day they would compete as part of a fatal four match to crown the first ever Queen of Southside champion.
