Nixon Newell's love of Captain Marvel is well known. The movie and character inspired her during her second knee rehabilitation. She's been nicknamed Pro-Wrestling's Captain Marvel. That Captain Marvel love hadn't yet been discovered in 2016 some few years before the movie existed. But I can't resist pointing out how Cat Power sounds like a fitting name for a comic book character hence the title of this entry. It's Captain Marvel versus Cat Power.

The self-proclaimed Joshi slayer had returned from a lengthy tour of Japan a certified force of nature. Nixon had a tough task a head of her against this force. At the start the two took to the canvas exchanging holds with Nixon showcasing some British technique. Cat turned the tide to her favor, cracking Nixon's chest with three chops reeling her to her knees in anguish all three times. She muscled Nixon up and down with a bodyslam followed by an elbow drop to the chest.

Cat delivered two ax kicks to Nixon's chest while she was on the canvas. She teased a third but instead boot choked her. Nixon fought back striking Cat with a few thigh kicks. But Cat quickly took back control with a kick to Nixon's throat. Nixon cut off Cat's charge in the corner with a big boot. She followed up with forearms before smashing Cat face first into the top turnbuckle. Nixon continued the assault, hitting two running forearms in the corner.

Nixon missed the third forearm but slipped to the apron as Cat came at her. She cracked Cat over the skull with a springboard enziguri from the apron. Nixon hit a crossbody from the top but Cat kicked out. Cat tossed Nixon off her as she tried to setup the Welsh Destroyer. Nixon clobbered Cat with a right hand to stay in control. Cat fired back with a succession of rights. Nixon evaded a big boot. She tried for the Shiniest Wizard but Cat evaded.

The Joshi Slayer grasped control; she lifted Nixon onto her shoulders and smashed her down to the canvas with The Demoralizer to score the pinfall victory. As she got to her feet, the crowd gave Nixon a round of applause for fighting like hell. So far her Shimmer loses outnumbered her victories, however The Girl With the Shiniest Wizard was gaining invaluable experience.
