Mercedes Martinez was pissed. She had lost the Shimmer Championship to Kellie Skater at the previous volume. Mercedes relished destroying her first step back to regaining the championship. Unfortunately for Nixon Newell that step was her. But Nixon didn't intend to be anyone's step back to anything; rather she was going to make the former champion her step forward. Mercedes was accompanied to the ring by Trifecta stablemate Nicole Savoy. There were lightning effects on the ceiling of the venue: Was that a good omen for The Girl With the Shiniest Wizard?

To start the match, Mercedes poked Nixon in the eyes before cracking two chops across her chest. A succession of forearms followed. Martinez continued the assault with chokes followed by an Irish whip. Nixon slid back under a big boot attempt and struck with two dropkicks. She followed up with running forearms and a savate kick to the jaw. She covered Mercedes who kicked out, driving Nixon furious. Nixon went for the Shiniest Wizard but Mercedes evaded.

Newell charged at Mercedes but got smashed to the canvas with a spinebuster. Mercedes lifted Nixon up in a delayed vertical suplex for eighteen seconds before dropping her to the canvas. Newell forcefully kicked out of the pin to make a statement. Nixon fired back attempting a springboard enziguri, however Mercedes arrogantly evaded it by casually stepping away. Mercedes planted Nixon with a big boot. She draped Nixon's head over the ropes and from the apron delivered Kawada kicks followed by a big boot to the side of the head.

Nixon fired back furiously in the ring with a forearm smash and blows to the stomach. She avoided a clothesline then hit a savate kick followed by a big boot and neckbreaker. Nixon ascended to the top rope but Mercedes cut her off, slapping the shit out of her. Mercedes launched Nixon off the top rope to the other side of the ring in a exhibition of power. The end was nigh. Mercedes dropped Nixon with the fisherman buster and got the pinfall victory.
