Lucha Cousins at SWE Day Of Reckoning 8

The fun loving duo of Nixon Newell and "Blue Pants" Leva Bates were collectively known as the Lucha Cousins. Their opponents at Southside Wrestling Entertainment's Day of Reckoning 8 were not the least bit fun loving. Pete Dunne and Ryan Smile of The Second City Collective were all business and in a foul mood. Smile came to the ring with a microphone in hand demanding Bates and Newell come down so he could say the unkind things he had to say to their faces.

Newell cosplaying as Indiana Jones and Bates as Hans Solo came to the ring in a pleasant mood interacting with the fans. But they had no such mood in mind when interacting with the misogynistic Smile. Dunne looked to get the upper hand before the bell but Bates caught his kick and rerouted it to Smile's chest. The bell rang and the match was underway. Dunne grabbed Nixon for Smile to strike with a big boot, however Bates pulled her out of the way and instead he struck the future Brusierweight to the canvas.

Smile verbally lashed back at Nixon and Leva who responded with basement dropkicks. Leva followed up with a running double stomp and northern lights suplex. Smile came back with a clothesline and tagged in Dunne. Leva was slammed to the canvas by Dunne who proceeded to work her leg with submission holds and methodical blows. Leva fought back, inches away from tagging in the fresh Nixon only for Smile to knock Newell off the apron and ground Bates with another clothesline. Smile went for a legdrop off the top but Bates moved out of the way.

Nixon finally tagged in and took Dunne to the canvas with a springboard huracarrana and the Shiniest Wizard. Smile tried to attack Nixon from behind only to get spiked to the mat by a tornado DDT. Bates was tagged back in. The two delivered a fury of forearms to their opponents. Dunne and Smile struck back with superkicks only for Nixon and Leva to return the favor with superkicks of their own. Bates and Newell didn't let up, hitting their opponents with Destroyers.

Newell put on her fedora, taking out both opponents and their corner man Damian Dunne with a tope through the ropes. Bates followed taking out all three men with a cannonball off the apron after shooting first. Pete was rolled back into the ring where Bates hit three superkicks and sliced bread. Nixon went to the top to deliver a moonsault but Smile pushed her to the floor. Smile made a lewd gesture at Bates who floored him with a superkick. But the distraction gave Pete a chance to sneak up on Leva and plant her with Drop Dead (Bitter End) to get the pinfall victory.
