Nixon Newell came to Southside Wrestling Entertainment's Supremacy 2016 event for a defense of the Queen of Southside Championship against her "Lucha Cousin" Leva Bates. The fun loving duo had faced off in two singles matches and a triple threat match over the past two years with Newell always scoring the victory. They had even joined forces as The Lucha Cousins against The Second City Collective only to take the loss. Would Newell defeat Bates again? Or would SWE see the start of the reign of a Blue(Pants) Queen?

Leva would work under her Blue Pants ring name for this match. Nixon entered to C'est La Vie sending her opponent into a song and dance frenzy. Blue even got the referee to dance a bit. Even after the bell rang Blue was still struck with song and dance fever, trying to get the crowd to hum along. Nixon even did a little bit of a dance. And she busted out The Worm much to the delight of Blue, the fans and even the referee. Blue nearly lost it! The party didn't stop there. Blue did the Moonwalk and even tangoed a bit with the referee at the encouraging of Newell.

The opening festivities came to an end as the two locked up for the first time. They traded holds with Nixon showcasing some classic British technique on some of her reversals. Blue was the first to tense things up delivering a forearm shot that caught Nixon in the nose. Nixon fired back with a hard chop to the chest followed by a strut. Blue got frustrated, charging in aimlessly and getting armdragged twice followed by a dropkick.

Blue fired back with two armdrags of her own before charging again at Nixon who this time sent her to the apron. Blue hung on and rolled back in through the ropes planting Newell with a unique version of the uranage. Unable to score a fall, Blue switched things up applying a camel clutch. Nixon overpowered Blue onto her back, driving her into the corner. But Blue quickly took back control with a northern lights suplex with a bridge for a two count.

Nixon was brought to her feet by Blue who delivered a nasty sounding palm strike to her chest. Blue kept Nixon trapped in the corner with two kicks to the midsection. She wasn't done, using the ropes to elevate herself and catch Nixon square in the nose with a third kick. Blue hurried to the opposite corner and charged back at Nixon who slid between the ropes to the apron. Nixon caught Blue in the face with an enzuigiri. Blue evaded a crossbody from the top but Nixon rolled through instead of crashing to the canvas.

Blue charged at Nixon who canvassed her face first with a drop toe hold. Nixon quickly followed up striking Blue back down with the Shiniest Wizard for a two count. Newell climbed to the top and came down with a moonsault only to crash when Blue rolled out of the way. Upon getting to her feet, Blue was a house of fury unleashing a succession of overhead chops ending with a double chop. But Blue wasn't done, discus double chopping Nixon back-of-the-skull first to the second turnbuckle.

This more ferocious side of Blue continued to be showcased as she struck Nixon with elevated double knees in the corner. Nixon got to her feet only to be grounded yet again by a diving double stomp off the top rope. Blue took a moment to roll and pose before going for a cover, resulting in a two count. The frustrated Blue tried to plant Nixon with sliced bread but stumbled and got dropped on her back.

Blue swiftly rebounded waistlocking Newell for a pinfall attempt that Nixon kicked out of and reversed into her own pinfall attempt. Blue kicked out and got to her feet only to be sent back to the canvas by a superkick. Nixon grabbed Blue, planting her firmly to the canvas with a roll of the dice to retain the Queen of Southside Championship by pinfall.
