Nixon Newell may have been contemplating that to beat an Angel she might need to turn a bit toward her devilish side when she faced Erin Angel. Earlier in the day, the two had actually teamed up but night came and they were pit against each other. It started out a clean contest with the popular Newell showcasing British technique against her opponent. A hard shot from Nixon seemingly by mistake turned the tide, resulting in Angel slapping her across the face.

Newell responded with a bit more aggression, even teasing a signature move at one point and instead going for a chinlock to irritate the crowd. Such an attitude wasn't completely unfamiliar to her, having taken on the role of a heel elsewhere on the UK scene around that time. Unable to get a pin via a fallaway slam with a bridge, Nixon stood on top of Angel and choked her with both her feet. Angel fired back with some offense including a top rope elbow drop. Nixon got up and the two traded strikes, ending with Nixon superkicking Angel to the canvas.

Nixon went for the Shiniest Wizard and missed, however immediately waffled Angel with a roundhouse kick to the head. Nixon laid back on Angel with the hook of a leg. Angel kicked out at one making a statement. Newell wasted no time, intent to follow up with the Welsh Destroyer only to get backdropped instead. Angel took her down with a poisonrana followed by a destroyer to keep Nixon down for the three count and victory.
