The Shiniest Newell Year 2026 | Battle, Beer and Brooke
ELL vs. DFW Dojo Wars | Nixon Newell vs. Brooke Havok

June 6, 2026. Evolution Dojo. Houston, Texas. Evolution Lucha Libre vs. DFW All Pro Dojo Wars. With the wounds of her recent Death Match debut no doubt still healing, Nixon Newell returned to the hallowed grounds of the dojo to battle Brooke Havok. This first-ever match saw Nixon test the skills of one of the top rising stars of the independent scene. Brooke had previously battled some of the same persons whom Nixon had faced in the past year and 1/2. This would be a fitting test of Brooke’s progression since her 2020 pro wrestling debut.

Nixon and Brooke were both warmly received by the Dojo faithful. They shook hands after shaking the hand of the referee. This Chronicler predicts this will be a sporting contest, written prior to my eyes gazing further I assure you. There were reversals, grappling, canvas mastery on display… all calm and competitive until Nixon gave Brooke a playful pat on the head after a clean break in the corner. Brooke being young and prideful pushed Nixon who lost her temper, charging at Havok. Havok slide on her knees forward, evading the attack. Newell came back at Havok who went into hand stand mode, catching Nixon with a headscissors takedown.

A second rope missile dropkick sent Nixon to the floor. Newell evaded a tope. But so did Brooke slipping onto the ring apron. Havok struck Nixon with one of her own favorite combos: The rope assisted gamengiri followed by a crossbody off the top rope into a pin. Nixon kicked out. Nixon laid in some hard strikes followed by coming off a whip with a headscissors takedown of her own. Newell struck Brooke with a charging uppercut in the corner then slipped through to the apron. The Nixongiri stunned Havok, leaving her prone to Nixon slipping back into the ring through the ropes with a dropkick.

Nixon with a charging PK to the skull. Cover. Kickout. Brooke rolled to the outside. Brooke caught a PK from the apron attempt, sweeping Nixon face first to the hardest part of the ring. Brooke with a brutal chop, knocking Nixon to the floor. Another brutal chop knocked the wind out of Nixon. Newell with a defensive headbutt to the stomach. Nixon pressed Brooke against the ring apron, building momentum for a nasty chop. The battle pressed on… until a fan presented Nixon and Brooke with Modelo. It was Modelo Time Baby! The ladies toasted, the ladies drank, Nixon put her can down… Newell kicked Brooke in the stomach, forcing her to put her can down. Brooke reversed Nixon tossing her back into the ring to her to Nixon.

It was blow for blow. Nixon with a big boot. Brooke rebounded off the ropes from the blow with a Supergirl Punch. Strikes exchanged. Headbutts at once! Nixon and Brooke staggered, using each other to stay on their feet. Roars! Charge! Both struck each other down with clotheslines. They slowly came to it, continuing to strike each other all the way to their feet. Nixon busted out the Welsh Destroyer. Brooke fired back with a Destroyer of her own. Once both got to their feet, Brooke set Nixon up for a pumphandle but Nixon slipped free, catching Brooke off a whip with a sit-down chokeslam for two. Nixon revved up, sending Brooke to the corner with a charged up uppercut, followed by Cannonboar and the sit-out gourdbuster. Newell went for a cover but Havok kicked out at two.

Nixon was ready to finish this, nearly taking Brooke’s head off with The Shiniest Wizard. 1-2-KICKOUT. Newell was stunned, shocked, bewildered! What was it going to take to score this victory? Brooke used the ropes to get to her feet, flipping Newell the bird as she turned to stare at her from across the ring. Nixon charged. Brooke sidestepped. Both backward rolled. Brooke with a superkick and side leg lariat for two. Havok smashed Newell to the canvas with her signature pumphandle sidebomb for two. Brooke herself was stunned.

Newell used Brooke to get to her own feet, in the process flipping her off. Brooke bit Nixon’s middle fingers then smashed her in the face with a ripcord murder knee. 1-2-KICKOUT. Havok had one more trick up her sleeve, setting Nixon up for a nightmare of a finish. Nixon reversed it into a rollup for the three count and victory.

The crowd gave both women and the epic battle they waged a rousing ovation. Nixon may have gotten the desperation win, but on that night Brooke Havok showed up and showed out coming out a winner in her own right. Nixon extended her hand, clasping Brooke to her feet. The referee brought them their Modelo cans. The ladies did one final toast, drank down some Modelo and took their leaves, on this night leaving every bit they had (except the booze) in the ring.
