There were a few times in 2015 where Tegan Nox (as Nixon Newell) competed under the name Luchadora The Explorer. Tegan would face Chilean luchadora Zatara in the opening round of the 2018 Mae Young Classic. The Full Sail crowd greeted Tegan warmly as she competed in her first televised (via streaming) WWE match.
Tegan was the favorite to win the tournament. Zatara took offense to those odds, working over her previously injured knee. Nox fired back with some of her favorites including a rope assisted springboard enzuigiri to set up Zatara for a top rope crossbody. Zatara would fall to The Shiniest Wizard advancing Tegan Nox to the second round.
