Year in the Making

The 2018 Mae Young Classic was drawing near and Tegan Nox was ready to compete. Not only would the winner receive a shot at the WWE women's championship of their choice -- the final match of the tournament would take place at the historic first ever all woman's pay-per-view event WWE Evolution in October.

It was a year in the making for Steffanie Newell who was now working under her new name Tegan Nox. Her knee had recovered and she had been working the NXT House Show loop since April 13th 2018. She suffered a minor injury in June during a match that she feared might prevent her from competing in the Mae Young Classic. Thankfully, that was not the case.

Tegan would participate in a couple hype videos for the Mae Young Classic including attempting to draw Stone Cold Steve Austin while blindfolded. She would also be interviewed as part of the Bracketology special.
