June 1st 2023. Albany, New York. MVP Arena. WWE Main Event. The Welsh Dragon Tegan Nox finally got her chance for revenge against former friend Candice LeRae. They met years ago on the UK independent wrestling scene, warming into each others' hearts when Tegan took Candice on a tour of historic Welsh castles. They fought each other in competitive matches and even teamed up. Both got signed by WWE and brought their friendship to NXT. Their bonds of sisterhood were strong until big sister Candice decided upon a new, warped way of doing things.

Candice had become a bad friend, trying to manipulate Tegan into following her warped way. Nox resisted her trickery! The Poison Pixie would put Tegan out of action for months with a brutal equipment cart assault. Some months later, Tegan returned to NXT to get her revenge on Candice, costing her the NXT Women's Tag Team Titles. Nox had more in mind but a call-up to SmackDown put an end to her Path of Vengeance. Earlier this year, Tegan and Candice hinted amends were made, teaming up with Liv Morgan at house shows. But a Dragon never forgets unfinished vengeance...

The Welsh Dragon had waited over two years to get her pound of flesh, so she would not wait any more flying right at Candice at opening bell attacking her with body blows and kicks. Candice fired back with shots of her own, driving Nox into the opposite corner. "Miss Perfect" followed with a rolling neck snap and jackknife cover for one. Nox took over, delivering an uppercut to Candice. "Idiot!" Nox screamed before forcing Candice to the corner with a few shots. Nox sunk her boot into Candice's throat like an equipment cart being rammed into a knee.

Candice tried to fight back after Nox smashed her head first into the top turnbuckle but Tegan shot back with a textbook suplex. Another uppercut. The crowd started cheering for Candice, drawing Nox's ire, setting her off to choke LeRae on the ropes. That hushed the crowd whom Nox mocked pretending to be a conductor. Candice fought back with a one legged basement dropkick. The Pixie started her climb to the top but stopped because Nox had rolled to the apron. Nox pointed to her head that she was smarter. By the way, Nikki Cross is in Candice's corner because she's creeping on her.

Nox found herself in a waistlock, about to be German suplexed on the apron. She elbowed herself free followed by a nasty headbutt. Tegan lifted Candice up in suplex position, dropping her front first to the hardest part of the ring with a standing gourdbuster. Nox grinned as she rested back on the ropes for a brief respite, stating she was indeed smarter. The action returned to the ring where Nox was now fully in control.

Tegan twisted on a headlock, putting a quick end to Candice's escape effort by pushing her to the canvas. Nox held Candice's arm and leg down for a pin but the referee claimed LeRae wasn't in pinning position. Tegan rightfully called him an idiot for not doing his assigned job. Candice found herself slumped on the ropes with Tegan lifting her foot up for a stomp. Instead, Nox struck LeRae with a nasty, loud kick. Tegan sickly grinned, soaking in the pleasure that gave her.

After getting a two count on a pin attempt, Nox applied a straight jacket. Candice flipped Nox off her to escape but Tegan shot back with a clothesline. Tegan covered Candice who kicked out, aggravating Nox. Nikki babbled nonsense at Tegan who shouted back for Cross to go away even calling her a psycho. She's correct. It must be pointed out that Nikki doesn't have a manager or faction member license therefore should not be allowed at ringside.

Nox lifted Candice up for another gourdbuster but LeRae countered it with a DDT. Candice went on a rampage, crushing Tegan with three step-up sentons. But her barrage couldn't get her a win as Nox kicked out of her pin attempt. LeRae climbed up to the top rope, cut off from flying with a right hand . Tegan climbed to the second rope for a superplex but Candice fought if off. LeRae set Nox up for the avalanche swinging neckbreaker only to get pushed to the canvas. The Welsh Dragon glided off the top rope, striking Candice down with an uppercut.

Candice slumped over to the opposite corner. Tegan got to her feet, sneering at her former friend as the fire within her heated up. Nox charged forward with a cannonball but Candice rolled to the apron. Candice hit Nox with a dropkick from the top followed by her Lionsault to steal a pinfall victory. At least Tegan got to deliver some well-deserved pain to her former friend. But Candice's win was theft thanks to the imbecile referee and Nikki lurking about. Speaking of Nikki, Candice didn't take kindly to her post-match affection. And still a bad friend: Candice LeRae.
