June 15th 2023. Wichita, Kansas. Intrust Bank Arena. WWE Main Event. It was back in February on SmackDown that Natalya needed someone to watch her back when she had issues with Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey. Tegan Nox selflessly stepped forward, even respectfully acknowledging Natalya was a locker room leader. Nox injured her arm defending Natalya. So, how did Natalya repay her? She ditched her, teaming up with Nox's former tag partner Shotzi to qualify for the Women's Fatal-Fourway Tag Team Showcase at WrestleMania 39 Sunday.

You know, a true locker room leader would have continued her partnership with Tegan. Or given up her own spot, encouraging Shotzi to reform The Lady Wizardballs with Nox. The Welsh Dragon got a chance to repay Natalya for ditching her when they collided on Main Event. Although this was the first one-on-one match between them, Tegan had an undefeated record of wins against Natalya in tag team matches back in 2021.

Natalya recently stated she was tired of being herself and needs to change. It's been quite the opposite for Tegan who has embraced a past version of herself not seen since 2016 on the independents. Ironically enough, Natalya tossing Nox aside shifted Tegan to again walk this darker path.

The bell rang and they locked up. Natalya went for a few unsuccessful pins before trying to apply the Sharpshooter. Nox kicked her way free then rolled to the floor. Tegan pointed out that she outsmarted Natalya and let the crowd know she didn't care they didn't like it. Natalya gave chase to Nox who again outsmarted her, kicking her to the floor as she grabbed her legs to try and prevent her from re-entering the ring. Natalya tried to corner Nox once back in the ring, however Tegan outsmarted her again face-first into the middle turnbuckle.

Nox stomped a mudhole in the corner before pressing her knee down on Natalya to choke her across the middle rope. Tegan blatantly disrespected Natalya with a pat on the head before bringing her foot down on her, stomping her leg out of her leg, followed by a nasty superkick. Double sting for a Hart! Nox tried for a pin but Natalya kicked out. Tegan applied a headlock which Natalya struggled to elbow her way free from. Nox put a swift stop to that tossing Natalya to the canvas. Tegan went into a violent rage, repeatedly slamming her ole "friend" face-first to the canvas followed by mounted punches.

Tegan wrapped Natalya in a bodyscissors, squeezing it to inflict pain. Natalya tried to fight her way free only for Nox to outsmart her once more, locking her in a guillotine. Nox put as much pressure as she could but Natalya powered her way out successfully, scooping Tegan up with a bodyslam. Nox countered Natalya's atomic drop with an elbow to the jaw. Natalya shot back with a clothesline and German suplex. Nox kicked Natalya off as she once again tried to apply the Sharpshooter. Tegan smashed Natalya with an uppercut followed by the sitout gourdbuster.

Nox pulled down the kneepad and rampaged toward Natalya, looking to finish her off with The Shiniest Wizard. Natalya pushed her aside, then pulled her down to the canvas. This time she successfully applied the Sharpshooter, forcing Nox to tap out. Natalya may have won the match, however Tegan showcased her cunning out-wrestling and outsmarting the third generation wrestler at every turn until Natalya got lucky. The Welsh Dragon exposed The Queen of Harts as The Queen of Fools. You know, I think Tegan helped Natalya discover that change.
