October 16th 2019. This was the biggest day of her wrestling career up to this point. Tegan Nox would make her NXT TV debut on cable television. NXT's weekly television show had moved from WWE Network to a Wednesday night primetime spot on USA Network in September. The eyes of the wrestling world were on Wednesday nights and this meant even more on the return of Tegan Nox. The day leading up to the match was filled with interviews and a WWE photo shoot. Before she headed out to the ring for her match, Tegan shared a moment with Triple H.

Tegan Nox's best friends Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae watched on from a backstage monitor as she fought Brazilian judoca Taynara (Tay Melo) in a short but hard-hitting match. Nox would prevail pinning Taynara after a top rope crossbody and The Shiniest Wizard. After the match, Dakota Kai hurried out to ringside to embrace her best friend in an emotional moment. But that feel good moment was about to be crushed by NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler.

Shayna -- accompanied by Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir -- were no strangers to Kai. It was Baszler who mercilessly bullied her throughout 2018. But on this night, both Dakota and Tegan were ready for a fight. Nox made it clear she had her sights set on going after the championship. Shayna vowed if Nox pursued her she would run out of limbs to rehab. Shayna and company backed down as Nox verbally pursued, asking for a title match. Shayna laughed back for Tegan to do something worth talking about if she wanted to earn herself a title match.

Dakota, Tegan and Candice were back together. It was time to have some fun. Nox shared an emotional embrace with Dakota and Candice backstage before they made their way outside for some Degeneration X in front of the NXT logo. All was good and right in the world.
